Monaveen

Monaveen is Housing 21’s extra care scheme in the West Sussex village of Westergate: 60 one and two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent and shared ownership for people over 55, built by Highwood and handed over in March 2021. It takes its name from the Queen’s racehorse that made its first winning appearance at nearby Fontwell Park in 1949.

Alongside the apartments sit a café bistro, a hair salon and a communal lounge that is also open to the local community, backed by a 24-hour on-site care team. diVa PLUTO LED round panels and POSEIDON INTEGRATED downlights light the interiors, with VENUS HALO 2 LED bulkheads and BOUTES LED bollards completing the scheme. The light follows the mood of each space: soft and even in the lounge and bistro, crisp at the salon mirrors and in the kitchens, and never glaring overhead. Home comforts, properly lit.
